The New York State Department of Transportation is reconstructing the big Route 5 exits from Interstate 481 in DeWitt, New York. The project involves building new traffic lanes alongside existing ones, consolidating two separate exits into a single exit with a two-lane ramp expanding to four lanes, and installing a new traffic light on Route 5 to improve traffic flow and safety. Additionally, construction at Lyndon Corners includes adding a second lane toward Manlius to ease congestion.
