I-75 highway segment 3 modernization project in Michigan

The project involves the reconstruction of a 5.5-mile (8.85 km) segment of Interstate Highway 75 (I-75), located in Oakland County, southeast of Michigan, USA.This segment is located north of 13 Mile Road to the north of 8 Mile Road in the Cities of Madison Heights, Royal Oak, Hazel Park, and Oakland County. The project also involves modernizing the freeway segment and improving 28 bridges along the route, as well as a safety upgrade that separates traffic entering northbound I-75 from I-696, and northbound I-75 traffic exiting at 11 Mile Road. Furthermore, the construction of a 14-foot diameter drainage tunnel between M102 and 12 Mile Road to separate and meter freeway water from the local storm system to mitigate future flooding concerns. Segment 3 is the final piece of the almost 18-mile (29 km) MDOT I-75 Modernization Program.
