Description | The i-80 Gold Mineral Point open pit is Nevada's largest undeveloped oxide gold project, featuring an indicated resource of 3.4 million ounces of gold and 104.3 million ounces of silver. It is a conventional truck-and-shovel open pit mine with on-site heap-leach processing, planned as Phase 3 in i-80 Gold's Nevada growth plan. The project is currently undergoing resource expansion drilling and technical studies funded by a $250 million net smelter return royalty agreement with Franco-Nevada US Corporation, including a $50 million allocation for 2026 activities such as drilling, engineering studies, and permitting preparation. Construction capital is estimated at $708 million, with first gold production targeted for 2031, potentially earlier if permitting is accelerated. |
