The proposed project would consist of minor improvements to widen the I-95 northbound exit ramp in order to provide an additional left turn lane; add a second eastbound left turn lane on Airways Avenue using the exiting raised median across the bridge over I-95, widen the I-95 northbound entrance ramp with an additional receiving lane to merge into one lane before the I-95 freeway merge; and modify the traffic signal phases and timing to account for current level of services. The construction of dual left turn lanes on the I-95 northbound ramp and Airways Avenue would increase the level of service to allow for stable traffic flow. The additional left turn lane storage and enhanced signal operation would increase the capacity of the signal and reduce queuing during most congested periods of the day. All proposed work would occur within existing right-of-way.
