The basic project aims to achieve the building up and extension of research and the development of seamless learning in the Lake Constance area, and supports the other sub-projects of the IBH-Labs Seamless Learning. The Lake Constance region, with its many innovative companies has to face worldwide competition – and the best minds too. The fast pace of change requires a high level of adaptability, with the corresponding requirement for lifelong learning. Seamless learning starts with fragmented learning experiences: What is learned in school is not used in later studying; studies or further training do not provide the elements relevant to practice. The aim of seamless learning is to overcome fractures – between individual learning stages, between the school and occupational areas, or from analogue to digital. New technologies are also deployed. The basic project aims to achieve the building up and extension of research and development for seamless learning in the Lake Constance area. It creates a network for this, lays the scientific and conceptional basis and supports seven sub-projects in conceptional teaching and technical development – with the help of a design-based research approach. Requirements are analysed jointly, and teaching prototypes developed, tested and evaluated. An online showroom is also planned for software to support seamless learning concepts. This should help in the decision as to which teaching principles and technologies can be meaningfully used in teaching.
