The objective of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is growth-oriented business support services aiming to improve competitiveness and access to markets for European SMEs. The EEN will contribute to competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs internationally by facilitating market access and transnational collaboration/partnership building. Furthermore the EEN aims to stimulate innovation, promote EU policies and programmes and provide professional services to all stakeholders. The Icelandic consortium consists of three organisations which play a central role within the Icelandic innovation support system for SMEs. The key objective of the network partners is to contribute to increased competitiveness and innovative capacity of SMEs in Iceland and the European Community. By promoting all forms of innovation, the EEN Iceland supports and strengthens innovative ability and competitiveness of the community as a whole. Moreover the partners will help to improve and support entrepreneurship and promote entrepreneurial culture, both regionally and in the European Union. Through participating in the EEN the partners will provide Icelandic SMEs with a gateway to the extensive services and coverage of a unique international network in support of business and innovation. All network partners have proven their ability to work with companies and organisations in a broad range of capacities, both through participation and administration of the Enterprise Europe Network in Iceland and through participation in other trans-national projects supporting international co-operation, research and innovation.
