As artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly transforms workplaces, ensuring workers’ involvement in shaping AI policies is crucial. This project aims to equip trade unions and worker representatives with the necessary tools, knowledge, and strategies to take part in meaningful information & consultation procedures and influence AI governance at the workplace level. By fostering AI literacy among workers, strengthening bodies of worker involvement at company-level and exploring how information & consultation procedures on AI are reflected in collective agreements , the project seeks to ensure that technological change benefits workers rather than undermines their rights. Key activities include developing a step-by-step guide for worker representatives to develop training plans on AI literacy, a checklist for AI-related collective agreements, and a research report summarizing best practices and legal insights. These resources will empower trade unions to make the best use of information and consultation rounds and negotiate stronger protections for workers in AI-driven environments. Additionally, workshops, expert discussions, and dissemination events will facilitate knowledge-sharing and engagement across sectors. The project primarily targets trade unions, worker representatives, and researchers, ensuring that AI regulation incorporates workers’ perspectives. By strengthening workers' participation in AI governance, the project contributes to a fairer digital transition and sets a potential benchmark for workers’ involvement when it comes to AI management through best practices. Its long-term impact will be sustained through continued advocacy, training, and integration into broader social dialogue initiatives at both national and EU levels.
