Description | The Safe Motherhood Project: a Partnership and Family Approach will assist the Government of Indonesia to improve maternal health status, reduce mortality and morbidity, through a partnership and family approach, in selected districts in two provinces (East and Central Java) through: (i) improving quality and utilization of maternal health services; (ii) strengthening the sustainability of maternal health services at the village level; (iii) improving quality of family planning services; and (iv) preparing adolescents to lead a healthy reproductive life. The project components will be grouped into two categories, the provincial components and the central level components, and include the following: 1) improving maternal health (MH) status, utilization and sustainability of MH services; 2) increasing demand for and access to high quality family planning services; 3) preparing adolescents for healthy reproductive life; 4) technical support and training; 5) policy, research and evaluation; and 6) project administration. |
