Description | The Reorganization of the Industrialization Fund Project in Finland will meet the financing needs, and establish the Fund which will assist in the development of Finland. This project will consist of: a) an increase in the Fund's resources, b) a capital structure which, together with tax and other preferences, should provide a reasonable return on its equity and permit the development of a financially sound institution; c) strengthening of the Fund staff, management and organization to enable it to appraise projects, provide technical assistance to its clients and assist in the development of a capital market; d) reorientation of the Fund's mode of operations from indirect lending's through its shareholding banks to all forms of direct operations that normally are undertaken by financing institutions. Continued industrialization is a necessity for Finland. Although its industry grew rapidly in the postwar period, the country remains less industrialized than most Western European countries. |
