International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) offers a high-quality line-up of carefully selected fiction and documentary feature films, short films and media art. The festival's focus is on recent work by talented new filmmakers. However, within the four sections, the Festival presents, there is also room for retrospectives and themed programmes. IFFR actively supports new and adventurous filmmaking talent through its co-production market CineMart, its Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and other industry activities. IFFR is more than a film festival. It also offers year-round guidance and support to all film professionals through the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF), the annual co-production market CineMart and the many forms of training offered among others in the Rotterdam Lab programme. All of these pillars make up IFFR Pro an important community for independent filmmakers and producers looking for finance, coaching, distribution, co-production partners and inspiration. IFFR Pro and all its activities are completely integrated into International Film Festival Rotterdam. Professionals and the Public meet in the various locations of the festival; conference center De Doelen, which functions as the main festival hub, but also the locations of Talks&Masterclasses where Reality Check also takes place, the art institutes and the cinemas. IFFR Pro is an integral part of the festival and therefore makes use of all the supportive departments of the festival, such as IT, HR, Production, Finance, MarComm, Development etc. IFFR and IFFR Pro are not only completely connected logistically, but also on a content level; we work closely with the programmers of the festival for some of the Pro activities and speakers at the Talks & Masterclasses programme, also perform in IFFR Pro activities. Through among others the Hubert Bals Fund, CineMart, Rotterdam Lab, the Festival, IFFR Unleashed we support cinema and its creators in different stages of their projects and careers.
