Description | IGNIS is adapting its business model to prioritize economic return per megawatt in the Iberian solar market by focusing on hybridizing solar plants with wind power and battery storage. The company operates 1.5 GW of solar capacity mainly in Spain, with 400 MW under construction. It is developing a 1 GW portfolio of wind projects as hybridizations of existing solar assets and implementing a storage plan including a 5 MW battery with 4 hours of storage in Portugal, with plans to add another 55 MW of batteries at the same site. In Spain, IGNIS is working on over 100 MW of storage under the hybridization model to avoid new grid connection procedures. |
