Description | The Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) is a 128-acre campus located at 8080 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive on Chicago's South Side. It is anchored by PsiQuantum and includes tenants such as IBM, Infleqtion, and DARPA. The project includes the creation of 750 full-time jobs over five years, a paid apprenticeship program through City Colleges of Chicago, and a Quantum Works workforce development center expected to open in 2028. The first phase of campus construction began in September 2025 with $500 million in state funding and is expected to be completed in 2027. The campus design incorporates expanded parkland, recreational paths, preservation of historic ore walls, and a new 53-bed Advocate Health Care hospital as part of a broader $1 billion health investment in the South Side over 10 years. |
