Description

Description

The project involves the development of an integrated potable water supply system for the province of Ilo in the Moquegua region of Peru, combining conventional water treatment with a new seawater desalination plant to ensure a sustainable and reliable drinking water supply. The initiative includes upgrading the existing Pampa Inalámbrica treatment plant with advanced ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis technology to improve water quality and remove boron and other inorganic contaminants, constructing a desalination facility with a capacity of 452 liters per second, rehabilitating four existing reservoirs, and building three new storage reservoirs to strengthen water distribution and storage infrastructure. The system will also continue using water from the Pasto Grande source, creating a dual-source supply model designed to serve approximately 134,000 residents in Ilo, Pacocha, and El Algarrobal through a public-private partnership structure managed by PROINVERSIÓN.
