Description
Description | The ”Imagining the Climate-Just Future” project will encourage citizens to imagine the climate-just future they want and take action to achieve it. It will promote broad citizens’ debate and engagement for climate action, especially reaching young people and citizens who are not yet active, as well as foster participatory policy processes through citizen-led analyses of policies such as the European Green Deal, the development of proposals for solutions and demands for accountability. The consortium will focus on activism, cities and culture as levers of change, through the provision of spaces and tools for exchange and engagement with policy processes to empower young climate activists, the creation of local spaces for debate to promote local action and policy proposals, and transdisciplinary collaborations and artistic approaches to promote cultural change and reach wider audiences. The project brings together a diverse consortium of 15 organisations: 5 Oxfam affiliates (Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland and Intermón), Women Engaged for a Common Future, 3 Save the Children (Kosovo, Albania and Romania), CREDA onlus, La Xixa Theatre, Xarxa d’Economia Solidaria, Altekio, Makesense and the University Twente/Green Hub as associated partner. The consortium aims to actively engage more than 3400 citizens from at least 11 countries all over Europe (Albania, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Netherlands, Romania and Spain) in debate and action on climate and environment-related policies and issues. This will be achieved through the organisation of more than 50 diverse and innovative activities with an ecofeminist, intersectional, decolonial, transdisciplinary, and intergenerational approach that promotes collaboration and the creation of communities across Europe. The activities will include mobilisation trains, people’s meetings, future scenario planning, forum theatre, cross-cutting conversations, exchange with policymakers and more. |
