Description | Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Government of India, Ministry of Power vide its Gazette notification. No 15/09/2013-Trans dated 17.11.2015 has appointed REC Transmission Projects Company Limited to be the Bid Process Coordinator [BPC] for the purpose of selection of Bidder as Transmission Service Provider [TSP] to establish transmission system for immediate evacuation for North Karanpura [3X660 MW] Generation project of NTPC along with creation of 400/220 kV substation at Dhanbad [ERSS-XIX]. Adani Transmission Limited [ATL]- hereinafter referred to as TSP’, became successful bidder in this RFP process and Letter of Intent [LOI] received from BPC on 24.05.2016 and subsequently Special Purpose Vehicle [SPV] namely “North Karanpura Transco Limited” was acquired by ATL on 08.07.2016. Under this Project, NKTL is to construct following transmission lines & Substation- 1. North Karanpura - Gaya [NK-G] 400kV D/c line with quad moose conductor 2. North Karanpura - Chandwa [Jharkhand] [NK-C] Pooling Station 400kV D/c line with quad moose conductor 3. LILO of both circuits of Ranchi - Maithon-RB 400kV D/c line at Dhanbad 4. Establishment of 400/220 kV, 2x500 MVA sub-station at Dhanbad [ERSS-XIX] Said Project has great national Importance for immediate evacuation of power from North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Plant [NKSTPP] having capacity of 1980 MW [3 x660MW] at estimated investment of 12,000 Cr being set up by NTPC at Tandwa village, Jharkhand. The construction of said power plant is in advance stage and 1st unit is expected to get commissioned by Dec’21. Construction work of on these transmission lines was initiated in April’2019 after getting NOC from Ministry of Coal and all requisite statutory clearances is already in place, especially sec 68 and sec 164 notification as per regulation. |
