Description
Description | CHARM’s objective is internationally positioning Europe as an integral destination of quality and excellence for cultural tourism, by promoting its most charming rural villages and making the most of CCIs technologies to provide an unforgettable experience to visitors. The project will target villages perceived as charming by visitors because of their identity or personality linked to history, traditions, gastronomy, architectural elements, other cultural and natural assets, etc. In 24 months, this PPP (combining two public authorities, three tourism SMEs and two CCIs SME), will structure a transnational route of 10 villages from Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain offering more than 70 new tourism products and activities across Europe. This wide offer will be supported by the CHARM Platform, where several ICT modules (including VR/AR technologies) will cooperate to create an amazing experience able to transfer the values of each charming site directly to users: an exciting and immersive way to explore and unveil the cultural and natural heritage of rural Europe. In parallel, CHARM will develop a sound promotional, branding, and cross-selling strategy to enhance the international visibility and reputation of Europe as an integral cultural destination, targeting the right segments and key outbound markets. Through this process, CHARM will engage more than 110 SMEs from 6 countries to deliver the new tourism products, thus contributing to local development and job creation. Besides the collaboration of CCIs and tourism companies in the partnership, CHARM foresees the organization of networking events as well to build synergies between the two industries, like the BRIDGE event gathering 250 people in the fringes of the 2020 TurisTIC Forum in Barcelona. |
