Information Water Resources Department Bihar has come up with Implementation of Ganga Jal Aapurti Yojana for drinking water on turnkey basis, first phase under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan with a ticket size of 4515.7 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Location of main component of Ganga Jal Aapurti Yojana as below :- Intake well -cum-Pump House - Hathidah, Mokama in Patna district. Rajgrih Reservoir, Rajgir and Water Supply at Rajgir Town - Ghorakatora, Giriak in Nalanda district. Water Treatment Plant - Motnaje and Paura, Nadarganj block in Nawada district. Ganga ji Gaya Reservoir - Tetar, Mohara block in Gaya district. Water Treatment Plant - Manpur block in Gaya district. Ganga Jal Aapurti Yojana was implemented, which is successfully providing uninterrupted water supply for domestic use to Rajgir cities from 27.11.2022, Gaya and Bodhgaya from 28.11.2022 and Nawada cities from 15.12.2023. water is being successfully supplied for uninterrupted domestic use to 8031 houses in 19 wards of Rajgir city, 70000 houses in Gaya city, 5600 houses in Bodh Gaya city and 13965 houses in 17 wards of Nawada city. Apart from this, purified Ganga water has also been provided to more than fifteen lakh devotees who came to the Pitripaksha Mahasangam in Gaya in the year 2023 and about two crore devotees who reached Rajgir Malmas Mela.
