Description
Description | The Project involves the installation of reserved lanes (priority measures) on boulevard Guillaume-Couture in Lévis, including widening the roadway and rerouting certain local service circuits. Two sections, totalling approximately 2.92 km, are planned at the most congested hubs, namely the Chaudière hub, between chemin du Sault and rue de Mercure, and the Desjardins hub, between route du Président Kennedy and rue Saint- Omer. An approach of approximately 220 m, east of rue Saint-Omer, will allow buses to make the transition to the existing lanes. This approach is included in the 2.92 km length. The Project also includes the development of 14 transit stops, including drop-off areas for passengers and adapted bus shelters, the modification of traffic lights, the addition of fiber optics, the burial of public utilities, and the relocation municipal infrastructure. The Project also includes the construction of sidewalks over approximately 5.84 km, the development of two one-way bike paths over approximately 2.92 km and the addition of 14 bike racks. The Project aims to reduce travel times and increase the modal share of public transit in Lévis in order to allow the densification of the territory. It will also promote active mobility by improving pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in the targeted areas. |
