Description
Description | The 2025 LFS variables on ´reconciliation of work and family life´ responds to demand for more comprehensive data describing complex situation of people who need to reconcile working life with the demands of caring for children or dependent relatives. This action is grounded in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2447 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/2312 and the related explanatory notes made available by Eurostat. Main activity is data collection of eight-yearly variables. This action will bring data concerning topics of existence of care responsibilities for children living inside or outside of the household, age of youngest child, use of childcare services or motivation in case of non-use, existence of care responsibilities for partner or other relatives who are ill, frail or with disabilities living inside or outside of the household and amount of time dedicated to the care, work related changes due need to care and main obstacles encountered, number of children raised and length of potentially used parental leave. The 2025 LFS module will be based on commonly agreed objectives and indicators in Member States. SO SR will submit national strategies for common evaluation in this area. The results of the project will offer large opportunities to recognise situation of people with care responsibilities, describe situation concerning use of childcare, work related strategies due to the care needs and career breaks. Using common guidelines and submitted model questionnaire by Eurostat will be reached the mutual comparability and linkage of the output data. Even more, the methodology applied in the project will fully correspond to delivered instructions, variables and codes. The cognitive testing and pilot field tests at the beginning of the project will ensure further harmonisation with indicators that should have been surveyed. |
