Implementation of Trinidad and Tobago’s Interoperability Platform, e-Identity Program and Government Data Center

This CAF-led project aims to modernize communications, digital infrastructure, and related services in a manner that promotes greater robustness, scalability, interoperability, efficiency, and security in Trinidad and Tobago. LACIF is supporting the first stages of implementation of the Interoperability Platform, an e-ID program, and a Government Data Center.The project proposes a hybrid solution that will integrate its own Data Centre with cloud infrastructure and with other carefully selected private sector cloud infrastructure to optimize the provision of public services, the digitization of the State, and meet current and future demands for IT services. It aligns with the EU’s Global Gateway broader connectivity strategy, helping Trinidad and Tobago to improve digital inclusion and to further integrate into the global digital ecosystem. Knowledge-sharing activities with other CARICOM countries are also foreseen, contributing to regional integration and innovation.
