Information Water Resources Department, Biha has come up with Implementation of Work to provide water throughout the year near Vishnupad temple on the left bank of Falgu river in Gaya district with a ticket size of 386.86 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Implementation of Work to provide water throughout the year near Vishnupad temple on the left bank of Falgu river in Gaya district. The construction of Gayaji Dam has been completed to provide at least 2 feet of water throughout the year in the Falgu river near the famous Vishnupad temple. With the implementation of this scheme, 2 feet of water is available throughout the year in the upstream of Gayaji Dam. The implementation of this scheme, about 12 lakh devotees performed Pinddaan in the Pitru Paksha Mahasangam in the year 2022. Also, 1 lakh devotees performed puja on the occasion of Chhath Puja 2022 and 4 lakh devotees on other occasions. In the year 2023, about 15 lakh devotees performed Pinddaan in the Pitru Paksha Mahasangam. Devotees were very satisfied with the presence of water in the Falgu river.
