The general objective of the project is to establish a sustainable production process at NSI for annual population grid statistics production in order to answer the expected requirements at EU level part of the new ESOP framework. The project aims to cover the following specific objectives of the call: - Adapt national statistical systems to the expected requirements of the new framework for ESOP; - Enhance availability and quality of voluntary data in Eurostat’s dissemination in terms of variables, breakdowns and territorial details with a view of possible introduction of mandatory data transmission requirements. The project will provide the following deliverables: - Data and metadata for the total population on 1 km square grid for reference year 2022 - Data and metadata for the total population on 1 km square grid for reference year 2023 The project aims to start during the first quarter of 2023 (15 march 2023) with implementation period of 24 months. Implementation will be performed by the National statistical institute and no external partners/expertise are foreseen.
