Improvements of the quality and timeliness of COFOG data (ESA table 11)

The main objective is to improve quality of COFOG data (ESA table 11) and timeliness of government finance statistics data, which have a high relevance for users of the data. Main activities: develop methods and procedures to compile and report data on COFOG data. The specific objectives are: improvement of the data sources/methodology to compile GFS according to ESA11 guidelines, data quality improvement of already available GFS series, improvement of the data timeliness and preparation of regular ESA table 11 data transmission to EUROSTAT. The results will include datasets in the area listed above, studying of methodologies, development of innovative techniques to produce data. Expected results and outputs are: The national GFS production system is improved and data collection and processing systems strengthened; Skills and professional knowledge of the CBS staff is improved; National methodologies for the GFS production, which are in line with the requirements of ESA11, are well documented; Revised series are compiled in line with the improved methodology and transmitted to EUROSTAT in required format. The action will improve the situation of target groups and final beneficiaries by providing necessary improvements in production of Annual Government Finance Statistics The aim is also to get practical information on methodology, data collection and processing methods used for producing government accounts.
