Description | The importance of the internet as a channel to purchase consumer goods and services is continuously growing. The share of transactions via internet in the expenditure of households cannot be neglected, particularly for certain product groups. This project will entail the inclusion of internet purchases in certain divisions/sub-divisions, that is, measured inflation will take into account price movements of products bought both locally and cross-border. Coicop 2018 implementation is to come into force in the year 2026. Each statistical institute is required to provide the whole timeseries to Eurostat by mid-year of 2025. |
