Description

Description

The aim of the module is to improve access to and increase the use of quality medical care for pregnant women and newborns in the selected satellite hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley, while at the same time relieving the burden on the Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital (Paropakar) Kathmandu and specializing in it. The module also aims to strengthen gender equality and the role of women in leadership, management, service provision and user groups in the catchment area of the satellite hospitals. The recipient is the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. The project sponsor is the Nepalese Ministry of Health and Paropakar in Kathmandu. The direct target group is the population living in the Kathmandu Valley, especially women and children. The project measures include the construction of a new satellite hospital in Tarakeshwor, in the northwest of the Kathmandu Valley. The satellite hospital is located on the immediate outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley in order to relieve Paropakar of mainly normal and low-risk births and to alleviate existing bottlenecks in mother-child care. The project will also finance the necessary medical equipment and the digital connection and networking between Paropakar and the satellite hospital. Measures to promote energy efficiency will also be implemented. In addition, an accompanying measure is planned to train the project sponsor's management and executive staff (Paropakar and satellite hospitals), especially in the management, handling, operation and maintenance of financed measures and environmental and social standards.
