Description

Description

The aim of the measure is to improve access to water and sanitation for South Sudanese refugees and host communities in the Gambella region of Ethiopia. This is intended to improve the health situation of the target group and promote development in the region. The recipient and project sponsor of the measure is the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The measures include infrastructure, benefits in kind and training. The total cost of the project amounts to EUR 6.5 million, which is financed entirely from an FC grant. Due to the tense emergency situation in South Sudan and the current increase in the number of refugees in Ethiopia, the project is being implemented using an expedited procedure in accordance with Section 47 of the FC/TC guidelines. If necessary, a reserve audit of EUR 10 million can be activated. The implementation period for the services is 24 months. The final report is scheduled to be submitted 31 months after the contract is signed.
