Description
Description | Physical activity is one of the main conditions of a person's not only physical, but also social and emotional well-being. It also has a positive effect on being self-confident, contributes to the development of social skills, helps to achieve goals and promotes other personality development. It is highlighted that sport is also a universal language, which can help to fight different forms of discrimination and promote social inclusion. As such, sport and overall knowledge of a healthy lifestyle are very powerful tools that promote positive values and pursue social and ethical objectives among communities. The InMe project wants to highlight the role of sport clubs as a social inclusion and development incubator through the engagement and active participation of all persons surrounding it as well as the promotion of the sports clubs as a cohesive environment through the inclusive participation of parents, administrators, athletes and coaches. The project is carried out by three organizations from Greece, Italy and Slovenia all of them operating in the sports areas and use inclusive methods in their practices. Its aim is to check how inclusion is perceived by different sport groups and to promote the inclusion policies to less experienced organizations by enhancing the quality in the practices in proportion to their context. For this purpose, an indicative sample of people with disabilities from each partner organization will be trained at other sport clubs to sports of their preference and by the application of questionnaires pre and post their training sessions we aim to discover how the athletes with special needs perceive inclusion when training in another/regular club, how the athletes at regular sport clubs accept that and how sports clubs, which are otherwise intended for the majority of population, deal with the level of adaptability of sports training to various forms of disability. |
