Inclusive and Creative Media Education The purpose of the ICME -project is to develop operational models of innovative media literacy activities that can be shared and scaled up successfully crossing cultural, national, and linguistic borders from inclusive and creative perspectives. In this respect, the pan-European consortium will publish specifically developed and tested educational resources promoting critical media literacy addressing media literacy professionals, and other stakeholders working with different groups of people such as, teachers and educators, and youth as active public.The project consists altogether of nine local pilots, three in each participating country, including Finland, Italy and North Macedonia. The project methodology focuses particularly on the contextual features highlighting the diversity within Europe. This helps ICME to develop and promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage in accordance with the Creative Europe. Innovative methods of contextual development and collaboration enables to highlight the contextual knowledge and multiperspective approach in piloting the operational models. Through contextual development it is possible to 1) support the validation of the work and increase the quality of the developed media educational models, 2) take into account and support the cultural diversity, 3) construct new cross-sectoral knowledge through multi-stakeholder perspective, 4) strengthen the applicability of the operational models and support the continuity of the use after the project period. The contextual pilots focus on: 1) instructional principles to design inclusive media literacy, 2) educational approaches to promote creativity through critical media literacy and 3) an approach aimed at strengthening young people’s participation in cultural and political life. Multi-stakeholder perspective used in this project ensures the designed media educational models are current, relevant and up to date.
