The common problems of cross-border region are low level of industrial activities, high unemployment rate and high number of people at risk of poverty. The living conditions are deteriorated that increasing needs and demands for different social services and infrastructure investments in this area. The action will address this problem by following activities and outputs: 1) Establishment of Centre for social integration in Novi Sad and Osijek that will provide services: learning assistance for 20 children; in-house care for 20 elderly in Novi Sad, additionally supported by 10 volunteers; 20 seniors involved in volunteering as a tool of active as well as 12 from vulnerable groups as a tool of social inclusion. 2) Improvement of infrastructure and management efficiency of social assistance by e-social cards for 850 households and distribution storehouse for humanitarian aid and medical equipment for 500 social welfare users. 3) Improvement of cross-border cooperation through: 20 representatives of partners and stakeholders improved capacities for management and development of innovative social programs through education and exchanges; b) 1 cross-border cooperation plan for joint social programs created; c) 2 strategic local documents developed that support further social development in Osijek and Novi Sad; d) ensured exchanges between 20 volunteers from Croatia and Serbia; e) 30 representatives of NGOs from Croatia and Serbia/providers of social services improved capacities for better non-profit management and social entrepreneurship development. For this activities partners are shared responsibilities according to their roles in the project and their specific expertise. The added values are: support the accession of Serbia to EU by transfer the competences for EU social inclusion projects; transfer existing social models from Serbia to Croatia; opportunity to learn from differences and make society based on mutual trust, respect and intercultural dialogue.
