The term neurodiversity gives recognition to the various ways in which a brain can be wired. Societal acceptance for the variety of neurodiverse brains is still lacking. People with neurodiverse traits are suffering negative consequences of not being able to adhere or not fitting in, thus undermining their mental health in numerous ways. We strongly believe that creativity is a key enabler to empower people with neurodiverse traits, to develop a positive self image and to improve mental health. We also believe that creativity functions as a driver of change, to raise awareness and connect people with and without neurodiverse traits to shape their environment. Together we create, experiment and implement practices to foster social inclusion and adapt the school system, workplaces and society at large. Our objectives: 1. empower people with neurodivergent traits through creativity and cultural events 2. raise awareness by means of creative outputs and practices among a broad audience 3. enhance social inclusion in schools, work places and intergenerational communities through co-designing neuro-inclusive tools and creative interventions. In this project we set up local Inclusively Wired hubs and an international platform for learning and exchange. The local hubs expand their tools and interventions, raise awareness and create space for experimentation. Within the platform they share local insights and exchange their practices. Each hub operates locally and shares internationally, spreading neuro-inclusive practices. Inclusively Wired envisions a growing network of creative hubs in the coming years. The hubs function as drivers of change, as they support the process of applying creativity and creative practices. As the uptake of neuro-inclusive interventions grows, social inclusion grows alongside. The ultimate aim of Inclusively Wired is that the hubs can be dissolved in 10 - 15 years - as we have grown into a neuro-inclusive society for all.
