The INCAPT EMDM project will develop a fully integrated, joint Master program (duration: 2 yrs.) with joint degree of 120 ects. for which accreditation acc. European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programs will be accomplished. In innovative didactical ways, this JM program will convey essential knowledge on: • Affordable and sustainable housing solutions for the urban poor living in precarious conditions • Inclusive city planning and management for informal settlements and slums • Locally led climate change adaptation for the most vulnerable • Participatory community engagement in transdisciplinary processes The JM program developed in INCAPT will be highly innovative as it will: • focus on housing of low-income urban groups in Global North & South • tie to climate vulnerability of these groups threatened to be dislodged and forced to migrate • explore new ways of learning in situ in participatory manner/ transdisciplinary processes with the affected urban residents to find viable solutions that work for them • aim for Locally led climate adaptation – facilitated by a strong presence of prominent NGOs in the consortium • establish cutting edge dialogue on a pressing global challenge across South – North divides, In the INCAPT EMDM project, applicant UWK with partner HEIs and NGOs will form 3 teams, focusing on Curriculum Development, Quality Assurance and Management & Admin to take care of all aspects of program development. INCAPT JM responds to urgent societal and labour market needs of many local authorities and NGOs in the field of socially inclusive climate change adaptation of housing in cities. Graduates of INCAPT JM will be urban professionals with excellent skills in the areas of sustainability, climate adaptation and transdisciplinary community participation. They will be able to support cities in adapting to effects of climate change
