Description
Description | In the Yemeni health system, health services in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and psychosocial treatments are not sufficiently available to ensure basic care for the population. The project aims to improve care. It finances voucher booklets for health services for safe motherhood, long-term family planning and psychosocial treatments. In addition, performance-based payments are made to health facilities and training programs for health personnel are financed. The aim of the project is to increase the health resilience of people and institutions in fragile contexts with a focus on reproductive health and psychosocial illnesses. This will coherently continue and expand the German FC commitment to improving health care in Yemen. The project is designed as an open program and is to take place parallel to the ongoing phases of the voucher project and the social marketing project. It represents the second phase of the project to strengthen health resilience that began in December 2021. The simultaneous implementation allows efficiency gains in terms of implementation costs and enables synergies, among other things, with regard to joint training and monitoring activities. Basic measures of the project - Distribution of vouchers for health services and advice on family planning and the treatment of psychosocial illnesses, - Support for health facilities to ensure the quality of their services, including in the context of rehabilitation measures, - Training and educational measures for health personnel. The target group is the Yemeni population, especially young couples and people with psychosocial illnesses. The project is being implemented by the project sponsor Yamaan Foundation. |
