Description

Description

In the Yemeni health system, health services in the areas of sexual and reproductive health as well as communicable diseases including COVID-19 and non-communicable diseases are not sufficiently available to ensure basic care for the population. The aim of the project is to increase the health resilience of people and institutions in a fragile context with a focus on reproductive health, non-communicable diseases and infectious diseases, especially COVID-19. This will coherently continue and expand the German FC commitment to improving health care in Yemen. The project is designed as an open program and is to take place parallel to the ongoing phases of the voucher project (BMZ 2013.6526.1, BMZ 2017.6836.5 and BMZ 2020.6770.0) and the social marketing project (BMZ 2017.6546.3 and BMZ 2019.6763.7). The simultaneous implementation allows efficiency gains in terms of implementation costs and enables synergies, for example with regard to joint training and monitoring activities. The basic measures are as follows: - Distribution of vouchers for health services and advice on family planning. - Distribution of contraceptives and implementation of awareness-raising measures on family planning. - Treatment of people with non-communicable diseases - Prevention measures for infectious diseases. The target group is the Yemeni population, especially young couples and chronically ill people. The project is being implemented by the project sponsor Yamaan Foundation for Health and Social Development.
