Description
Description | The SMEunited project ‘Increasing SMEs’ engagement in social dialogue and policy making – SMEs4SD’ aims to further build and strengthen the participation and contribution of SME employer organisations to social dialogue and policy making at all levels. One of the primary objectives is to improve the involvement of SME employer organisations in social dialogue and the EU Semester. Monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the Council Recommendation on strengthening social dialogue will also be crucial to foster better representation of SMEs in policy discussions. In anticipation and adaptation to the transition to a digital and climate-neutral economy, the project will improve the readiness of SME employer organisations for future legislative and non-legislative initiatives and collective bargaining concerning the social and employment aspect of the twin transition. It emphasises participation in future EU consultations and decision-making processes regarding the digitalisation of work and the transition to a climate-neutral economy. The project will empower SMEs to actively participate in social dialogue processes and enhance their understanding of the twin transition challenges and opportunities, enabling effective engagement in collective bargaining on these issues. Additionally, the project will focus on the implementation by SMEs of existing EU legislation in the field of labour law and monitors social dialogue outcomes in Member States through the SME Observatory for Employment and Social Policy. The project partners will report back to the EU Institutions on the implementation of these initiatives and their impact on the labour market and employment for SMEs. Furthermore, the project seeks to improve the understanding of EU social and employment policies among SMEunited members. Overall, this project is dedicated to strengthening the role of SMEs in social dialogue and policy making, ensuring their voices are heard, and supporting their adaptation. |
