Description | The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) with a USD 10 billion commitment includes incentives for semiconductor manufacturing and startups. In August 2025, 10 approved projects with a cumulative investment of about ₹1.60 lakh crore were announced, including major plants by Micron Technology, Kaynes Semicon, CG Power & Industrial Solutions in Sanand, Gujarat, and the HCL-Foxconn JV in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. The first Made-in-India chips are expected to be rolled out in 2026, with significant job creation and revenue expected from OSAT facilities. |
