Description

Description

Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) have partnered to develop a nationwide system for the structured collection and recycling of used lubricating oil in India. The project aims to create a circular economy framework for lubricant management by establishing a reverse logistics network and advanced recycling facilities to process used oil into reusable base oil, reducing dependence on crude-derived raw materials. The initiative includes the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to oversee the network and plans to establish a modern re-refining facility with a processing capacity between 50,000 and 100,000 tonnes per year, targeted to become operational within three years. The project also addresses recycling of plastic lubricant containers in compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
