Description | HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering has signed a tripartite MoU with National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park, Tamil Nadu Limited and Sagarmala Finance Corporation Limited to develop India's first mega greenfield shipyard at Thoothukudi with a planned annual capacity of 2.5 million GT. The project includes development, financing, construction, and operation of the yard, and aims to be the anchor facility for the Thoothukudi Shipbuilding Cluster. It will generate about 15,000 direct jobs and support ancillary industries, workforce training, digital shipbuilding, and green shipping technologies. |
