Description | ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) is constructing India's largest greenfield integrated steel facility near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project involves an initial investment of approximately Rs 70,000 crore for the first phase with a capacity of 8.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The total investment is projected to reach Rs 1.4 lakh crore ($16.6 billion) across two phases, targeting a production capacity of 17.8 MTPA. The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated about 2,200 acres and is providing infrastructure support. Phase I is expected to be operational by late 2028 or early 2029, with full completion by 2030. The project also includes slurry pipelines with an agreement with NMDC Ltd for iron ore transport. |
