Description | The Indigenous MRI (IMRI) project aims to develop a fully indigenous MRI machine ecosystem in India, including the superconducting magnet, radio frequency hardware, and software. The project is executed by three institutions: Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) for the magnet, SAMEER for radio frequency hardware, and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for software development. The goal is to reduce costs by up to 40%, cut dependence on imports, and transfer technology to industry for commercial production. |
