Description | The Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada is set for a major redesign and modernization to meet international standards. The project will be executed in phases, with the first phase costing around Rs 60 crore and expected to be completed within six months. The modernization includes improvements to sports infrastructure, facilities for players, synthetic running tracks, and development of 2 basketball courts. The project is a joint effort by the Central government, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), and the municipal corporation. |
