Information Water Resources-MP has come up with Indira Sagar Project Canal Phase - IV [km. 206 to km. 243] with a ticket size of 558.62 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Completion Certificate/COD and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. The Indra Sagar Project envisages construction of the following main works- [i] A 654 m long and 91.4 m high [above deepest foundation level] concrete gravity dam across river Narmada in Khandwa district with gross storage of 12200 MCM and a live storage of 9750 MCM corresponding to an FRL of + 262.13 m. [ii] Central spillway, 495 m long, to pass a design flood [SPF] of 83534 cumecs and PMF of 1,15 lakh cumecs through 20 numbers of radial crest gate of size 20x17m [iii] A left bank flow canal [lined] 249 Km long with discharging capacity of 109.11 cumes at head. This canal will take off from the left bank of the reservoir, about 10 km upstream of the dam by a 3.3km long approach channel and a 3.3km long tunnel of 7.8 m dia [Punasa tunnel]. The construction activities of Canal projects have been divided into phases with Phase IV construction of Main canal and distribution system from 206 to 243 km. During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 257.38 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 115.699 crore CA released since 2016 till October 2021- 85.47crore State Share released through NABARD under LTIF till October 2021- Rs 102.95crore Physical progress- 100 percentage Main Canal & 85 percentage Network Financial Progress- 91.41 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 19600 Ha Irrigation Potential created till October 2021- 9500 Ha Projected Date of Completion- June 2022
