Description

Description

CATL, through its subsidiary Ningbo Contemporary Brunp Lygend Co., Ltd. (CBL), in partnership with PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM) and Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), is launching the Indonesia Battery Integration Project. This $6 billion initiative covers the entire battery value chain including nickel mining, processing, battery materials production, manufacturing, and recycling. The project spans over 2,000 hectares across multiple locations including the FHT Industrial Park in East Halmahera and facilities in Karawang. The Karawang plant will produce 6.9 GWh of batteries annually in its first phase, utilizing advanced manufacturing technologies. The project also features Indonesia's first renewable energy circular system, aiming for ultra-low energy consumption and high-value material regeneration, producing significant quantities of nickel, cathode materials, and recycled batteries annually. It is expected to create 43,000 jobs and support Indonesia's 2060 carbon neutrality goals.
