Description | The Indrayani River Rejuvenation Project aims to rejuvenate 87.5 km of the Indrayani River within the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority's jurisdiction. The project includes construction of 38 sewage treatment plants to treat wastewater from both banks of the river, reducing pollution from domestic sewage and industrial waste, and restoring the river's ecological health. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been evaluated by IIT-Roorkee and includes provisions for 15 years of operation and maintenance. The capital cost will be shared between the Central and State Governments in a 60:40 ratio. PMRDA has secured administrative approval of ₹793 crore. A consultant has been appointed to review the DPR and carry out preparatory work, including detailed surveys and managing the bidding process. |
