Industrial Canal Lock Replacement Project

A federal project to replace the lock on the Industrial Canal in New Orleans, aiming to ease delays and improve maritime traffic flow by constructing a larger lock. The project includes new bridge construction, demolition of existing structures, land acquisition, and added environmental and traffic mitigation plans. The new lock will be located about a dozen blocks north of the current structure, on the Lake Pontchartrain side of the Claiborne Avenue bridge.
