The project's main purpose would be to develop amarket in specialized business services that help small businesses improve theircompetitive position. The specific goals are to (a) articulate the demand forbusiness services among small businesses by helping to identify what theirneeds are in management training, product and production processtechnologies, quality control, marketing and foreign trade; and (b) help developa supply of business services that, by strengthening the local industrialconsulting capacity, promoting support services and developing methods suitedto small businesses, improve the latter's ability to compete.
