Description

Description

Since the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in late February 2022, world wheat prices have been on the rise (+65%). In Cameroon, the price per 50 kg of wheat flour has risen from XAF19, 000 to XAF24, 000 since March 16, 2022. This incremental progression has caused the government to increase support schemes for local farmers for wheat flour substitutes. This is in a bit to offset the deficit and boost local production and consumption. NALDCCAM , a private limited co , has identified cassava (Manihot esculenta), sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), and yam (Dioscorea alata) in Kuk-Fungom Sub-Division Menchum Division, NWR-Cameroon, as the root and tuber crops with the highest potential for value-added sustainable development and for addressing the country’s food and nutrition security needs. However, there is little or no medium- or large-scale processing of any of these farms' produce into flour in the North-West Region of Cameroon. Therefore, the company is seeking a minority investor funding of around 172 000 USD to purchase a 12 TPD auto-line RTC transformation machinery, to process RTC into high-quality flour and starch for local and international consumption.
