Description

The proposed investment consists of a loan of up to €9 million by IFC to finance the expansion plan of an existing IFC portfolio client, Industrie des Boissons du Sénégal (IBS or the Company; #40131), a still and carbonated soft drinks (CSD) processing company making juices and several brands of soft drinks under license from The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC). This project would finance the acquisition of two bottling lines (the “Project”). Both IBS and its sister-company Société Sénégalaise Agro-Industrielle (Sosagrin, #41789), a leading Dijon mustard company in West Africa, are IFC existing portfolio clients based in Senegal and majority-owned by the El Sahili family (the Sponsors) through SIFAKA (the Group). The total Project cost is estimated at14 €m to be financed with 65% debt through IFC loan and 35% through internal cash generation.
