Information Govt. of Sikkim has come up with Infrastructure Development of Gangtok Town with a ticket size of 100 INR Crores. This project in Urban Public Transport sub-sector involves under infrastructure development of gangtok town there are four sub-head to be taken 1.upgradation of storm water drains and road side drains 2.Construction of vehiculart over bridges/arterial roads 3.Landscaping and structure support of the landslide prone areas 4.Construction of vehicular parking and public park facilities The current status of the project is - Economic/Social Impact of the Project This project is mandatory is as almost all the infrastructure constructed by the department has been stretched and reached its capacity which is why storm water drain are overflowing due to spillage of runoff to the roads and houses causing landslide and destruction of property. The actual roads of the city are facing traffic congestion and the pedestrian walkways require up gradation.
