Description | As part of the utility's commitment to ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe and reliable, particularly during the pandemic, Cal Water completed a large-scale water main replacement project in the eastern part of Bakersfield last week. This upgrade ensures that customers and firefighters will continue to have the water they need for their everyday and emergency needs, both now and in the future. The project, which began in August, included the installation of 3,500 feet of new 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch PVC and ductile iron water main and 40 new individual customer service connections. Installation took place along: Ridge Road, from Mt. Vernon Avenue to Jessie Street Jessie Street, from Ridge Road to Alameda Avenue Alameda Avenue, from San Luis Street to Milvia Street San Luis Street, from Alameda Avenue to Bernard Place Bernard Place, from San Luis Street to Crestview Drive "We are committed to providing our residents and businesses a reliable and high-quality water supply around the clock," said District Manager Tammy Johnson. "Performing important water infrastructure improvement projects such as this will enable us to fulfill our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our Bakersfield customers." |
