The Inga 3 Development Program MPA (I3DP MPA) is the centerpiece of the World Bank’s approach to help the DRC turn Inga’s hydropower resources into economic transformation. Based on experiences of large transformational programs in other parts of the world the I3DP MPA will address two challenges simultaneously: a. Help the Government prepare the Project for the Country: preparing the variety of studies, technical assistance, and investments required to launch the construction of the Inga 3 hydropower project in a manner consistent with the further development of the Inga site.b. Help the Government prepare the Country for the Program: preparing a range of studies, investments, reforms, and capacity building around the Inga site, along the Inga Growth Corridor, and at the national level; all of which will be required to help the DRC both prepare the ground for Inga 3’s development and prepare to capture the broad-based benefits and economic transformation that Inga 3 will bring to the country, the region and the planet’s population.
